FAQs
How long does it take to assemble the pergola?
Assembly typically takes two people around 4-6 hours, though less experienced DIYers or installers might need a full day or two. Comprehensive assembly instructions and fixings are provided to help.
Can I pick/choose a delivery date?
You cannot choose a delivery date when you place an order for the gazebo. We provide an approximate lead time at the point of order, which reflects our current average time for completing these deliveries.
Our courier will plan these deliveries on dedicated HIAB vehicles, and so your delivery date will depend on when Powersheds next have a run going to your area. The courier will contact you approx. 1-2 weeks prior to delivery to confirm a date.
We do ask that you provide as much information in the order notes about your upcoming availability as possible when placing your order so we can ensure the courier does not plan your delivery for an unsuitable date.
Does my pergola need to go on a base?
Yes, all pergolas need to sit on a sturdy, even surface. This could be a concrete base or paving slabs.
Has the pergola been pressure treated?
Yes, all Powersheds Pergolas come pressure treated as it can extend the lifespan of the structure and help to provide protection against rot and decay making your pergola more durable and long-lasting.
How are the pergolas delivered?
They are delivered on an 26t HIAB vehicle, using a crane which is positioned on the vehicle, behind the cab. If there are any access restrictions for a vehicle of this size, please inform us as soon as possible.
The reach of the crane can vary depending on the incline of the surrounding area and any obstacles that might be present. For this reason, we offer a kerbside delivery service, and no guarantee can be made beyond this.
The driver will unload the pack using the crane and leave it as close to your desired location as possible. This is usually a driveway; however, we do sometimes get requests for deliveries to be made over fences, gates etc. Wherever possible the driver will do this for you, however if there isn’t sufficient reach with the crane, it will be delivered somewhere more accessible. Where the driver will leave the pack is ultimately at their discretion.
We do request that someone is present at the point of delivery. There will be one driver and having someone with knowledge of the property to advise them where to leave the pack can be very helpful. Once the driver has delivered the pack, they will not be able to assist with unpacking or moving the components.
Can I paint my pergola?
Yes. Painting your pergola can be a great way to customize its appearance.
Please though retreat your gazebo with a high-quality wood preserver prior to or after assembly has taken place and annually thereafter. You simply need to ensure the wood is dry before applying treatment to ensure it fully absorbs into the timber.
What maintenance does the pergola require?
Maintaining the pergola is essential to ensure its longevity and keep it looking its best. Make sure the base remains firm and level by doing regular checks and apply an annual treatment using high quality wood preserver.
